Dessn: An invitation to let your mind wander
Dessn is a production-native design tool bringing your entire team to shape real products directly in the codebase. Through high fidelity prototypes and easy cloud setup, Dessn transforms slow designer-to-developer iteration cycles into something immediate, fluid, and ready to ship.

The inspiration for this brand comes from an unfamiliar place: Alice in the Wonderland. In the show, Alice finds herself exploring whimsy rabbitholes and adventures.

We see Dessn as an invitation to freely explore the rabbit hole of infinite design possibilities. Just like Alice discovers a world of wonder and mystery through exploration, designers using Dessn discover new radical ideas by exploring an infinite canvas of possibilities. The journey itself becomes delightful.

Why it's important to let the brand breathe
While working on Dessn, we considered limiting the system to a simple rabbit hole motif. This would allow for more scalability and also make the brand feel a little more familiar as a tech company. But as we tried to bring that restraint to life, we found the soul and impact of the brand fading away. Free flow of color, typography, illustration, and multiple layering are what make the system work. The system works best when it's free and wild.
Bringing delight to product interfaces
Dessn's crafty, illustrative system lends itself beautifully to marketing and social touchpoints where it can breathe freely, but condensing the system to find meaning within a compact product architecture was a challenge. We refreshed Dessn's UI interface while finding pockets of delight and whimsy for the creative illustrations to work, often within the rails of a structured product experience.
